Cravings - helpful or not?

Sensory desire is a way of thinking. It is when we desire things strongly, with our reptilian brains.

The reptilian brain is one of the oldest parts of the human brain and was inherited from our reptilian ancestors, millennia ago.

This part of our brain controls our most primitive functions and desires, such as cravings for sex, food and attention.

Why is is not helpful to follow our reptilian brains?

Well, first of all, do you like spending time with crocodiles?

They are not the friendliest creatures around.

Secondly, more often than not, the reptilian brain does not give us helpful signals. It tells us we really want something yet it does not communicate how we should obtain it. This is why following the reptilian brain constantly is unproductive. It leads to desires we simply do not know how to satisfy.

Next time you are around and start craving something, notice what changes in you.

Who do you become?

More soon friends.

Yours,

Peter
